Nine Trees Future Arts Center, Shanghai
Nine Trees Future Arts Center
As the first grand theater nestled in a forest in China, the Nine Trees Future Arts Center spans a site area of 120,522 sq. m. with a total construction area of 71,700 sq. m., featuring nearly 20,000 sq. m. of custom GRC curtain wall panels.Designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, the structure incorporates sweeping curves and vertical facade fins that demand precise engineering.
The project utilized high-performance prefabricated GRC components to realize the architect’s organic, fluid aesthetic while fulfilling strict structural and acoustic requirements. The custom GRC panels provide exceptional dimensional stability, fire resistance, and long-term durability, creating a striking contrast between modern architectural lines and the natural forest landscape.
Recognized as a landmark cultural venue and a key project of the Shanghai Municipal Government, the center was awarded the prestigious Magnolia Award in 2019 and is widely celebrated as the “Art Card of South Shanghai.” This successful delivery demonstrates our capability in executing large-scale, high-precision GRC facade projects for elite cultural institutions.
